Glow in Aberdeenshire Council

At present Aberdeenshire Council has trained a member of staff in almost every school to have some Glow expertise. These individuals are known as Glow Champions and they complement Aberdeenshire's 34 Glow Mentors, who were trained by the National Glow Team.

The Glow Champions attended a two-day training programme, which took place at numerous venues across Aberdeenshire. During the training, they began to populate their establishment site, build Glow Groups and add dynamic web parts.

The Champions also received training in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and were given demos of Glow Meet and Glow Messenger. They were given an overview of the national and local picture, including the projects and initiatives Aberdeenshire plans to develop through Glow: Glow Bugs, the Learning Research Centre, Sycamore Wings and a Glow Group which will support learning through the Cairngorm National Park in partnership with LTS.

Since their training in May 2008, the Glow Champions and Glow Mentors have been delivering introductory Glow sessions in their establishments, during which staff are issued with their usernames and passwords.
