National Videoconferencing Services Project

The Videoconferencing Services Project (VCSP) Phase 2 is a 12-month project funded by the Scottish Executive to pilot national videoconferencing services for all schools in Scotland. The project is being managed by UKERNA in collaboration with Learning and Teaching Scotland. UKERNA manages JANET, the United Kingdom education and research network.

Phase 1 of VCSP, funded by the DfES for schools in England, built on work already accomplished by the Regional Broadband Consortia in establishing videoconferencing services within their regions, and established the interoperability standards and support services required for national and international use of videoconferencing by schools.

The Scottish Project launch event was held on 29 November 2005 in Glasgow. The programme and the presentations from the event are below.
